Dear Colleagues and Friends:

I am saddened to announce that over this past weekend, Gene Anderson, former president of Adventist Singles Ministries (ASM) died in his house in suburban Atlanta, Georgia.

It was my privilege to work with Gene Anderson on behalf of ASM starting in December of 1995 when I first came to the North American Division (NAD).  As Director of Family Ministries I was NADs representative on the ASM Board and worked with Gene for several years as he passionately strived to build a ministry for Single Adults in the Seventh-day Adventist Church in North America.  Gene and the Anderson family were the principal funding stream for ASM for many years.  On Gene's watch, many singles were recruited over the years to participate in ASM-sponsored evangelistic meetings and church building projects overseas that resulted in the baptism of dozens of precious souls for the kingdom of God.

On behalf of NAD Family Ministries, the home of Adventist Single Adult Ministries (ASAM), I offer my sincere condolences to Gene's family, friends and a host of former ASM members who networked and worked with Gene to make a difference in the lives of thousands.

Gene Anderson's memorial service will be this Sabbath, March 22 at 5:00 p.m., at the Peachtree City Seventh-day Adventist Church.  The address is 4957 Highway 34 E, Sharpsburg, GA  30277-3505.  The church phone number is 770-253-8291.

Please join me in prayer on behalf of Gene's loved ones and let's purpose in our hearts to see Gene Anderson again in the earth made new.

Sincerely,

Willie Oliver
Director of Family Ministries
North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
