When I lived in Newfoundland we often heard about an Island or chain of Islands not too far away that was a part of North America and yet it still belonged to France. Saint Pierre & Miquelon is not too far from Newfoundland and is still a part of North American (here I'm borrowing from Stan J.) Anyway, here is a link to a very interesting Island/s.

Have any of you ever visited the 'other' part of North America? I lived in Newfoundland for four years and I still didn't visit there. Now, I wish I would have. That would have been a real adventure.

Yes, they still own a part of North America. You know, I'm not so sure the French in Quebec to go St. Pierre very often. I haven't heard that they do. Maybe they consider themselves more Canadian than French?
