I have a friend who always has a very busy schedule which makes if difficult to meet with him. Another friend found a way to get together with him and perform an unusual act of kindness. The friend called to say he would be traveling through the area but, unfortunately, had only a one-hour layover. Could they get together for a cup of veggie coffee and catch up on old times?
His friend agreed, saying he'd meet him at the arrival gate. There, the friend declined the veggie coffee and escorted him to the airport parking lot. At the friend's car, out came a small picnic table, two chairs, a portable take deck complete with music, a small bud vase with a rose, veggie coffee and appetizers. Soon, the parking lot "disappeared." He and his friend feasted, laughed, reminisced and made promises to reconnect. All this caring and sharing took place in less than an hour. Quality, not quantity, is what counts.
