Now wouldn't you like to have the reputation of the lady following?! And it doesn't take all that much effort either.....
"Have you ever looked forward to going to certain business establisments? Even if your business there isn't particularly rewarding you come away feeling cared about. The Galt, California, post office in my community is one of those places.
The post office is unique because it has Peggy, who appears to do a little of everything except deliver mail. It's the caring way she does everything that makes the difference! Her style of greeting and taking care of her friends and customers is so inviting. Actually I walk out of the post office feeling better than when I came in.
Here are eight reasons why Peggy's customers always feel welcome:
1. She calls everyone by name, remembers their names and if she doesn't know them, she asks.
2. She greets all with a smile, makes direct eye contact, and asks how they are.
3. She works extremely fast, which is considerate of customers' time.
4. She gives customers worthwhile information.
5. She gives a credible and warm face to the U.S. Postal Service.
6. She is quick to laugh and be playful including keeping a humorous quote for the day on the counter.
7. Often she greets folks with a handshake.
8. She's extraordinarily helpful. She once helped an aging customer rewrap her package because the lady didn't have the strength to do so properly herself. Peggy found some packing material and patiently helped this lady. She got another counter person to help with the line so no one was inconvenienced. Everyone in line smiled and several murmured words of appreciation while they watched her with this customer."
