Great idea!.................
A "chicken soup" friend is a person who birngs you healing nourishment when you're sick. He or she is present physically for you in your time of need.
A group act of kindness is a "dinner chain" - a nourishing meal provided by a different person each evening. To start it, write a note - with a calendar attached - that says something like this:
"As you probably know, Jim is recovering from his operation and
has a hard time. Would you join us in support of Him's healing by
providing dinner from him once this month. If you can, sign the
calendar on the day you'd like to prepare and deliver a meal to
Jim. If you need help delivering it, please let us know and we'll
make arrangements.
Jim has special dietary needs indicated below. Please use
disposable/recyclable containers so he won't feel the added
stress of trying to return them after the meal."
Another act of kindness is to take two casseroles instead of one and take it to a friend, neighbour or shut-in. There is no more effort invovled to make two dishes, but the labor of love will go twice as far.
