HEY ALL
there was an article that I read here it is
If you have high blood pressure, cut back on sugar(including
the high-fructose corn syrup found in soft drinks) and refind
carbohydrates, says Harry Preuss, M.D. of Georgetown University.
Many animal studies that have been done find that sugary
diets induce hypertension.
A new study done by Preuss finds that taking chromium
supplements (200 micrograms daily) helps to counter the
sugar's blood-pressure effect.
i am sure we can find the chromium supplements in
the food some where

Our bodies were not intended to have such a highly refined substance as sugar ingested into it. So, yes, I can understand why sugar could cause high blood pressure. Isn't that one of the reasons why a natural food diet is so good for a person?
I happened to grow up on that kind of diet. We lived on a farm and grew most of our own food. We were healthy.
DARLENE
YES most of the older people grew up on farms and raised
their own food.
the when more people moved in the the cities and more
grocery stores were built then the package and proceesed
foods came in to being that was were a lot of problem
started
my grandfaher lived to be 90 years old he grew up on
a farm my dad lived to be 72 he was raise in town

I think most of my family were raised on farms but, I know when my grandparents (both sets) moved to Canada for a number of years they really went big on white bread, etc. My father's mother died from cancer when she was 55 or 56, his father lived until he was 81. My mother's father lived until he was 80 and my grandmother lived until she was 85.
My father lived until he was 96 and my mother is still living at 95.
So.....maybe I'll live that long and then again, I haven't always eaten as healthfully as they have. I've always been a vegetarian though.
But, my father's side of the family does have hereditary cancer. Apparently the tendency is in our genes.
My grandmother died of breast cancer, her daughter of ovarian cancer, her son pancreatic cancer and another son has had intestinal cancer, my two sister died of breast cancer, one of their daughters had surgery for breast cancer, my cousin died of pancreatic cancer, two other cousins have had breast cancer. This family has been entered in the BC Cancer Agency Hereditary Cancer Program. Why does this family have this tendency? Who knows........?
Now you all know the whole history of my family!

DARLENE
WOW now that is a family history
but I was just trying to show how package food and
processed food might be a factor in shorting life.

Yes, highblood pressure can be a very real concern. My secretary has this and it they can't figure out why. She has very little fat on her and lives a healthy lifestyle. It seems it might run in the family.
On Friday, I went to the doctor because when I was there near the middle of January about an asthma episode from painting the ceiling of my living room which has a lot of old smoke on it, he thought I had highblood pressure. Well, fortunately I do not.
I do believe there are more men who have this problem than women so dgrimm60 I can understand why it might be a concern.
DARLENE
well my dad had border line high blood pressure and
border line diabets
I HAD a great aunt that was a diabetic on my dads
side of the family and an uncle that was diabetic on
my mothers side of family
so if i was not in to health as much as i am i would
be worried. But since I AM very much in to health
plus being a vegetarian I AM sure that helps
dgrimm60
Yes, I would agree that you lifestyle is helping you. Keep it up and you will have a long, good life!

DARLENE
YES I agree with you I AM planning a good
and healthy life.
