I'm not sure where to put this thread so, I'm putting it here.

2010 is not that far away and I suspect that many people will already have heard that Vancouver and Whistler, BC will be hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics at that time. That just might be a time when you can take a little trip and come for a visit. I know that thousands of people will converge on this area at that time and why not Adventist singles? Maybe we could even plan something just for us? Your thoughts?

Today, we had a meeting at our Conference office with pastors from across the Lower Mainland of BC along with directors and officers from the BC Conference. We were working on what our church will do for the olympics. There is a Christian church organization to which we are looking into joining that is an umbrella organization that will coordinate the Christian church contribution to the olympics

It looks like our contribution might be in the area of health. That seems to be one of our church strengths that would appeal to the olympian and their families.

The Olympic Winter Games are from February 12-28 with the Para Winter Games March 12-21, 2010.
I was just listening to a news report today which was telling us that ticket sales have started for these olympics and that they are trying to keep the sales from the scalpers. Prices are high enough now and once the scalpers get a hold of them they will be come out of reach for us commoners. I think I'll look into it because I want to at least attend one event so I can say I was there.

On a good day when traffic isn't too heavy, Vancouver is only 1 hours drive from where I live in Abbotsford.

I would like to know how much the tickets cost???
I am sure they will be expensive.
even though it is over 17 months from now
