I'm planning to attend the American Guild of Organists convention in Minneapolis in June. The convention hotel, the Hilton, is quite pricey. Does anyone know of a less costly alternative in the downtown or near downtown area? Something along the light rail line would be suitable.
I hope someone can help you, surveyor. I know nothing about Minneapolis.
Now an Organists Convention sounds very special. I've heard you play before so I know you would fit right in and really enjoy it!
HEY SURVEYOR
have you called motel 6 or super 8 motel then have 1800
numbers to call
those are the cheapest motel chain
also IF you have computor maybe you can find motels
on computor
i hope you find some cheaper ones than the HILTON

Now that you're not going for the organist seminar in Minneapolis, surveyor, you won't need a place to stay there. It still would be very nice to visit there though. It's too bad gas prices are so high because it is affecting the price of travel. What a bummer! Maybe we'll have to stay home more or maybe even start walking or riding our bicycles.
HEY ALL
YES gas prices are getting out of hand. at one of the factories
that I used to work at this man alway road a motor cycle.
and this one lady at another job said she was seriously thinking
about buying a moped bike.

I pedal my bike whenever possible. I would think video conferencing would be used a lot by churches rather than flying people all over the country.
Maybe that is why they have the NET 2008 coming up this year. I just read they are hoping for over 2000+ churches join in. That would save a lot of travel for evangelistic crusades.
And yes, the NAD Festival of the Laity is going to be done by video conferencing in 2009. That will save a lot of travel $s.
I have a 60+ mile round trip to church and 3ABN and Hope are beginning to look pretty good.
Now that is a long way to have to go to church! Maybe they need to plant a church closer to you?
I was in a church recently where they said they had a couple of members who stayed home from Sabbath School to watch Sabbath School on 3ABN or another Adventist TV Channel (not sure which one). Wouldn't a person miss out on having the interaction with other people if they did that? I think I would miss being with people.
HEY ALL
WELL in our church here in Tennessee durning the winter
months a lot of older people stay home for fear of the bad
road condtions. also we have a few people that are sick
that stay home and watch 3ABC
but I also agree with you Darlene that if you don't go you
miss the people.
