I'm going to opt for three days in Seattle, mainly because it's closer than Minneapolis, which would be my first choice if cost was not a factor, but I know the OHS convention will be filled with wonderful music and instruments, plus I'm going and coming via Amtrak Cascade train which is always a treat.
And you are one good organist, surveyor! Hey, you need to play at our camp meeting sometime. Do you do concerts, etc? They are looking for people to do a mini concert after the main pavilion meeting on several evenings.
I've never done concerts except student recitals many years ago, however locally we have one pipe organ. I've kick started a pipe organ group in my community, had 10 people out to the first meeting, and a FULL church to the second one, which was to a United Church to show off their 1878 pipe organ. I've been asked to do a recital there, which I will probably do in concert (pun intended) with others in the pipe organ group.

I'm sure there are lots of fine Adventist organists who can play at campmeeting.
HEY SURVEYOR

witness with music

Yes, there may be others who can do a concert but, they are not you. I know you play well but really, there isn't a pipeorgan at camp meeting. Each year Roy Hepworth and Carrillon Music in Surrey always provide us with a very good piano and organ but it's not a pipeorgan though it can sound like one. Very Happy
Yes, I know Roy Hepworth well - I've had business dealings with him for a number of years and he installed the external speakers for the organ in my local church. The last time he was here he urged me to come to campmeeting and play the instrument he installs. Both he and his wife Freida are fine people.

When was the last time campmeeting offered a workshop for organists? Now that might be a good thing to do - is musical education ever a part of campmeeting?

Are there any church musicians checking into this site? If so, what would you like to learn at a workshop for church organists?
