As I look back over the past several weeks and the deaths of five individuals that I've known for a number of years, I think about the things I remember about each of these people. I remembered their kindness, devotion to service, loyalty, friendship, gentleness, gift of leadership, the witness they were to others, selflessness, and so much more. Everyone who came in contact with each of these people was blessed in some way.

If you were to die today how would people remember you? What are some of the things they would say to describe how you impacted their life? Would they remember you for your Christ-like characteristics like kindness, gentleness, meekness, leadership, caring, and concern or would they remember you for your negative attitude, your condemning spirit, or your lack of care and concern?

Time is short, the Lord is coming soon! WE are not guaranteed tomorrow and even more we are not guaranteed the next moment. If you are not living today, this moment in the manner you want to be remembered there is no better time to begin than right now. Through prayer the Holy Spirit can help you be the person that people will remember as the loving, caring, Christ-like Christian.

Very sobering thoughts. Each one of us need to reflect back on our lives to see how the Lord has been leading us. I truly wonder what people would say about me should I die tomorro? I would hope that they would say that I was a true Child of God. Certainly something to think about.

A beautiful posting by Lori H. It is a blessing to be reminded of the things in this life that truly matter. We have such a short time to be a reflection of Jesus to others. Jeffrey Lamb

When people look at me
I want them to see
A reflection of Jesus
Lord let it be

Forget my body
Forget my face
May all you remember
Be His shining grace

When folks remember me
Here's what I'm wishin'
May they say of me
He was truly a Christian

That is my prayer also, Jeff. You have expressed it beautifully in your poem.
These posts were written near the beginning of this forum. Has anything changed for any of you? Have you experienced a near death in your family or yourself? Have you changed your views of what it is that you remember about the people near you? What is it that people will remember about you should you die?

In our area we have a lady in her early 50's who suffered a couple of minor strokes and then her doctor thought he could fix some of the problem with surgery. She has now been in a coma three months and may never recover. What do I remember about her? I remember that she had a way with ministering to the children at the summer camp where she was head cook. They loved her and thought of her as 'mother' during the camps. She was a very gentle and kind lady. She loved her Lord.

I wonder what people would remember about me should I die. Could they say that I was a Child of God? I certainly hope so. That is my goal in life.
What I remember about a lovely Carribean friend of mine is his wonderful smile; such a smile that even his eyes smiled. He's been dead many years now but his smile is still infectious! Kind, soft-spoken, not given to religious argument but to study and pensive thought; human enough to make mistakes; smart enough to admit them! He is now only in a mild slumber and will yawn, stretch and ready himself soon for the greatest tasks of the universe..tellng His-story! Sleep well Les! ... I won't take time to reflect on my story until it is finished being written then but your remembrance is worth telling!
Some people have such a impact on us that we remember them forever. Others we forget too soon.

My mother just died on Wednesday night. She will always be remembered for her gentle spirit, love and for her godly ways.
