Today I attended and presented the service in one of our Filipino churches today; Fraser Valley Filipino Church. My message was on parents reflecting God our Heavenly Father to their children. I mentioned how we are to look around us, in our church and community, for children who perhaps have a single parent or whose parent's don't care for them and become a parental figure to these children. Following the service at the fellowship lunch I sat with the wife of the first elder who was away sick. She said that there are 27 foster children in families in that church. They have already had 2 or 3 baptized and these children are theirs to raise.

It was also very interesting to see a caucasian couple there. The lady introduced herself to me. She said that she was the mother of one of the young men (about 14 years old) that she had never married his father but that the two of them were there together and they have been having Bible studies with the pastor.

What a blessing these people are being to those foster kids and yes, even their parents! Now that is what I call true parenting and a true blessing!

WOW that does sound like a good program they have
at that church. they are reaching out to the children
but they are also getting the parents

One week later.....................

I'm not sure if this is a blessed day or not! I'm sitting here with sweat running down my face. We have had a very cool spring with much cloud. Yesterday was the first real sunny day in a very long time. Today is hot! The heat is breaking records across B.C. It's also a long weekend for many so you see many people on the beach. Too bad it's Sabbath cause I know many of our people would be out there too.

In Abbotsford it's 32 C or 89.6F (90) Now for some that may be hot but, after the long cool Spring to be in the low 18-20s the previous day and then to spring to 32C is a drastic change. So.....is it a blessed day? I'll let you know tomorrow if I can get any sleep on a this hot summer night.

WELL IT has been hot here also but also humid
which makes it seems hotter.

Now that I would not like! I remember living in the east of the U.S. and Canada and humidity is not a nice thing. At least here ours is just hot. That's easier to take.
