I think we need to pray for the economy in the U.S. and other parts of the world. God knows all that is happening and He is in control but, I know that it can be quite unsettling. Huricane Ike, the bankruptcy of the Insurance company, AIG and some of the financial institutions.
Yes, God is in control and we need to put our trust in Him but, we also need to pray that things will improve so He can use us to finish His work around the world.

YES even though we know as time nears that all things
will get worst (economy--storms---violence---etc)
but it is also a good idea to pray for GOD'S hand to
help us through these hard times.

Exactly dgrimm. If ever we needed the Lord before....we sure do need Him now! There is much we can do for people who don't have the assurances we have when economic times become difficult.
Well things improved a little today. On the stock market the price of shares rose. Today in Canada the price of gas went from 144.9 cents per litre to 127.9 cents per litre so I was able to fill my car's gas tank. Yes, we know the Lord is in control and are certainly thankful for that! We need to keep praying though.
Absolutely. When a simple rumor can set off such a panic mentality that people wait in mile long lines to buy gasoline until a every station in the city runs dry, it's easy to see how unsettled the economy can become. Our pastor started a new sermon series today on Boundaries and Margins and Other Facts of Life. Today's sermon was entitled "Where to Start When You Don't Have Enough". Very appropriate for what's going on right now and amazing when you consider this series was planned long ago. God's plans know no haste and no delay.
You poor guys are going to have to pay 700B to help the financial sector gain their footing. Perhaps that is what it's going to take to get your country back on it's feet and perhaps that is an answer to prayer.....

WELL it will get the religious right group to push
harder for a Sunday Law. THIS will still hunt the economy
so then other LAWS will be push though to get people
back to GOD
but we all know this is going to have to happen before
JESUS will come back

Well, I believe, they are still trying to get the 700B passed through congress. We need to pray that things will work out and that the U.S. can get back onto solid fiancial footing again so that the message of Jesus soon return can be carried to ALL the world. I believe there are still 100 and some countries that still need to hear that He is coming soon.

in the senate----but they think it will pass.

Oh, okay. I don't understand all your governmental system. Since it has passed, will it be put in effect immediately or does it have to wait until the discussion is over. Or will they vote again after the discussion in the senate?

THE congress is like the lower house of government and the
senate is like the upper house of government and both have to pass before it becomes law. AND my understanding as soon as both
houses pass it and the president signs it, it will be law.

Now that helps me to understand. We also have both, one called parliament and the other senate. But the senate has little power.
We need to continue praying that God's will continue to guide and that the outcome will be what He wants.
We need to keep praying. I know of some friends in the U.S. are pretty scared about what might happen.
It sounds like an agreement has been reached today. Continue to pray that God will lead and guide in this matter.
