There is another organization of interest to the senior single adult. It is S.A.G.E. Seniors in Action for God with Excellence.
The Conference where S.A.G.E. began was the Washington Conference. Here is their website:

The British Columbia Conference also has a S.A.G.E. Ministry. It started about 5 years ago and 2 years later one of our Presidential couple died and it slowly died. This year we found another couple, Ray and Gwen Smith and things have started up again. Our first church renovations project is in Revelstoke, starting next Sunday, September 28 - October 4. It's going to be a great one! I'll post a bulletin insert here tomorrow. That is, I will if I don't forget!

Now on Tuesday or Wednesday, my secretary and I are going to take a quick run up to Revelstoke to take pictures and interact with those participating in this renovations project. It should be a very excellent project and I know the 20 members of this small congregation are very, very excited to have this kind of help from across our conference.
Our Revelstoke project begins tomorrow, 28th. So far there are about 20 seniors participating. My secretary and I plan to drive there and back on either Tuesday or Wednesday. We'll get pictures and information for and article. I know that they will be working hard and the project coordianator, Andy Anderson will make sure they keep working!

They will work hard but will also have a great time while doing it!
Here's an update on the S.A.G.E. B.C. Revelstoke Renovation Project from Gwen Smith via telephone.
They have taken off all the siding, and the inside walls of the church building so they can install the windows. So........the church is currently naked (my insertion

. Gwen and Monia Wettstein have just begun to stain the new siding which will be installed later.
They arrived at the church on Sunday at 11 a.m. and began work right away. They have more people then they expected with 25 showing up. The Revelstoke Church people are also all there working. Lots of work to do still and they are all very busy.
Terrence Davin who is a member of the SAGE Committee, Marie, and myself will be travelling up on Wednesday to take pictures and give our support.
Yesterday, Marie P. and I travelled to Revelstoke, BC, where our S.A.G.E. BC is having it's very first church renovations projects. The trip takes 5 hours one way so it was a very long day. I was able to get a lot of pictures of the workers and the changes to the church.
I'm going to try to post an attachment here but, it just might be too large. (didn't work.)
Here is a part of the picture update (pictures are missing) that was created today.
A Story In Progress
On September 28, 2008, over twenty-four British Columbia Conference church members converged on a former Kingdom
Hall in Revelstoke to convert it into an Adventist place of worship for church members of the Revelstoke congregation.
Work on the first ever S.A.G.E. BC Renovation Project began Sunday afternoon and by Wednesday, the outer and inner walls had been removed and new siding and drywall installation was well on it’s way to completion.
Work participants arrived from Abbotsford, Armstrong, Chase, Kamloops, Kelowna, Williams Lake, Richmond, Revelstoke, Trail and other places around the British Columbia Conference.
Revelstoke church members are also actively participating in the project. Ray Brosseuk keeps workers well supplied with work and other materials; John Ogden is a very able work participant; Dan Koronko lends his assistance; Jan Ogden, Jackie Brosseuk and others are supplying delicious and nutricious food to keep worker energy at maximum
levels.
Appreciation is also extended to several young adults who have dropped by and are lending their assistance to this project.
Unfortunately, due to weather condition and lateness of material arrival, the work will probably not be completed by Friday, however, it will continue on to completion……..God’s message will go forward in this thriving skiing resort centre of British Columbia!
