HEY ALL

HAPPY COLUMBUS DAY TO ALL

even though Columbus discovered the islands off
of AMERICA on OCT 12. THE holiday is celebrated
on the 2nd Monday of OCT which this year is OCT 13.
SO all Federal and state offices will be closed.
also some schools will be closed. the post office will
be closed. and I am guessing country and cities offices
will be closed.

so for all those that have the day off hip hip horray
and yippie yippie

I got Columbus Day off when I lived on the East coast; however, out here in California, the only people who get off for Columbus day are government employees and bank employees. School runs as usual. I remember thinking once I moved to California that I had been gypped!

YES COLUMBUS DAY is mostly a FEDERAL HOLIDAY.
BUT many states also take the day off. also some
schools but not all will get off. SO maybe California is
not the only state that robs people of this holiday.

I suspect that like the Candian Thanksgiving holiday your Columbus Day is almost over. Hope it was as good a one as our Thanksgiving was. We had such good food and good company! It would be very nice if it happened every day.
