Hilton Head, SC
What a beautiful place. Such peaceful beaches where you can't tell where the beach ends and the ocean begins. Where you can walk along the ocean and see dolphins porpoising in the same direction you're walking not far from the beach.
Beautiful sunrises and peaceful breezes.
A plus to this place is that you get the best of both worlds—quiet beaches and tourist traps! You can easily find beaches where it's quiet and hardly populated. At the same time, you can find beaches slammed with people (I don't fancy that kind of beach at all, but some do!) You can find great local restaurants and tourist type restaurants.
Another plus, in my mind, is that where you drive, the roads and stores are separated by beautiful landscaping that looks VERY natural. It's keeps the island very non-commercialized.

Re: Hilton Head, SC
Now that does look like a neat place. Not sure about the alligators though! ;D
Glad you added a place to visit because mine are all from BC. BC is nice but there are many other places that are just as nice.

Re: Hilton Head, SC
ahh.. the gators and crocs are harmless as long as you keep your distance! haha. In fact, my parents live on a lake down in Florida and throughout the day you can spot lil baby gators sunbathing on the land and in the water. They're kind of cute in a weird way... but at the same time, they're creepy... LIKE SNAKES!!!! :o

Re: Hilton Head, SC
Oh, no, aligators and SNAKES! I think I'll stay in is area where the we don't have any aligators nor snakes. Well, not poisonous snakes. Actually I grew up in the Okanagan Valley of BC, where we do have rattle snakes.
I returned to the Okanagan for a visit last year and while there a rattle snake threw itself at me from off a bank along a pathway. Missed!
It would be nice to visit SC and Florida though. Both are beautiful places.

Re: Hilton Head, SC
yeah... i hate snakes! *shudders* :-[
I'm worthless around them.. unless there is someone there that would depend on me. BUT, if I'm there around a snake by myself.. I whimper! hehehe :-[
I've come acrosss many snakes with mt biking and just a few with hiking. There was this one time I was creeking with some friends (hiking down a creek in the water). At one point in the adventure, we came across a snake in the water. I don't have a clue what kind of snake it was, but man was it creepy! Swimming around in the water. I'll tell you this, I didn't hang around long enough to get a good look at it. Once I saw it, I was out of there!

Can't say I blame you. I'd be out of there too.
And the snake was the most beautiful creature in God's garden? Don't think it is today, that's for sure. :o

Re: Hilton Head, SC
Do you think there will be snakes in heaven? Ones that fly? Or since they allowed Satan to use them in the Garden of Eden, will they be banned?

Re: Hilton Head, SC
That's an interesting question for sure! I've never heard it before or thought of it. BUT, I think there will be. Maybe... I don't really know.
I do know this, God can cleanse the snake and make it just as beautiful as it was before Satan corrupted it. It's up to God.
I will tell you this though, I won't be disappointed if it's not there! hehe. Nah. I'm kidding.

Re: Hilton Head, SC
I don't see how people can stand to have a snake in their house. Some have small ones and huge ones. Who knows, maybe I'll have one in my mansion in Heaven. I think we will love them there! ;D

Re: Hilton Head, SC
I think I'll have a tiger or lion for my pet in my room in the mansion instead of a snake. How cool would it be to have a huge lion or tiger as a pet?!? Talk about some great snuggling with the lion. A huge pillow!

Re: Hilton Head, SC
I think I'll go for a panda bear or cats. I grew up on a farm and my Mother always said that when I was missing she always knew where to find me....in the hayloft with the cats and their kittens. So, my little friends are cats. Actually I haven't had cats for years but, in Heaven I'm sure there will be many cats in my mansion.

Re: Hilton Head, SC
I love cats and dogs. I grew up with them constantly. We always had at least 2 in house cats and one dog. So, I've always loved them and wanted them around. I'd have a Beagle right now but I don't want the financial responsibility, and I live to far from my work to go home and let her out at lunch. So, no dog for me.
