At the last North American Division Adventist Single Adult Ministries Committee Meeting in October of 2005, I suggested this forum to be used by single adults and Adventist Single Adult Ministry Leaders. It is to be a place where single adult church members and their single adult friends can come and discuss issues of importance to the single adult whether they are never married, divorced or widowed. It is to be a place where Adventist Single Adult Ministry Leaders can come and share what ministry ideas and events have worked for them and what hasn't. It is to be a place where upcoming events can be posted and links posted to other Adventist Single Adult Ministries websites. It is to be a place of community for the single adult church member and their single adult friends. It is to be a place of Christian friendship and fellowship. It is to be "A Christ-centered, safe, nurturing place where friends gather."

As any forum it does need some ground rules and we would suggest the following:

1. All who come to this forum are welcome and need to be treated with love, acceptance and respect. All comments posted must be respectful.

2. All who visit this forum can view the threads (comments) without entering the forum. The exception is that they cannot view any member email address without logging in. Please all members be vigilent not to share personal information such as address location, phone number, and or full name, et cetera in your comments.

3. Members of the forum have opportunity to send private emails to other members. You are welcome to do so but, please do not abuse this privilege.

4. We will, from time to time, have unsavoury characters here and they are welcome to participate in the forum, however, if they become offensive or harrass anyone please notify forum administrators and they will be removed.

5. Any member or visitor can come to this forum at any time of the day or night. We encourage you to participate and please don't keep us a secret.

One other item: Please remember that this is a discussion forum, "The Online Adventist Single Adult Community." We are not a place to push our agenda but rather a place to 'talk' and discuss. As a result we would request that posts be limited in length. Please keep them to three or four paragraphs. The occasional post that goes beyond that length is acceptable.

There was some discussion at our last NAD ASAM Committee Meeting of joining this forum with the NAD ASAM website. Hopefully that will happen when the website is updated. Waiting.....

We're still waiting although it appeared something happened the other night that Stan had nothing to do with, so perhaps?

Well, as of July 2007, we are no longer waiting. As you saw when you found this forum it is a part of the NAD ASAM website now. It is nice to be a part of the website, however, the software changed and is taking some getting used to. One day we hope that we find someone who knows how it works and can work on making it look more like our old site "The Happening Place - the Online Single Adult Community." We'll know more after the meeting of the NAD ASAM Committee in November.

Great! I am looking forward to seeing something more than the generic "My BB" at the top of the page - and I am sure you are, too!

Yes, that would be very nice! I tried changing it and now I have "enter your name here" scrolling across my computer screen when it goes into standby mode. Can't seem to get rid of it either. So, yes, it will be very nice to have a descriptive and welcoming banner again.

Thanks to IceAce, the forum is looking very inviting. He added the banner at the top, the shout box and other boxes on the right hand side. We will make the forum known to the single adults across North America. Hopefully we'll find some who want to talk and share their thoughts and ideas. That's what 'The Happenin Place" is all about.

I'm not sure about LynnDel. I know when we tranferred to the NAD ASAM website some, including LynnDel were having difficulty with their password and getting into the forum. Maybe that has kept her from coming back.

I would say that these issues have been resolved. Anyone else having trouble?
